It was so quiet our ears hurt. The insulation began last Friday and passed inspection today, allowing drywall to begin tomorrow. We had to raise our voices lest our words be absorbed by the insulation. It felt like we were all wearing ear plugs.
Before this our house was insulated to the very, bare, absolutely next to nothing minimum. We heard noises outside like they were happening in the house. When it was cold out, it was cold in. After the hot days, when the outside temperature dipped into comfortable, it stayed hot inside, regularly hitting over 100 degrees in our family room with the vaulted ceiling.
That's all gone now. Anything that was open was stuffed full of insulation. We are so ready for the walls to be closed.
