We left warm Tucson and flew through a storm to get home to rain, thunder and a power outage. As Clover put on her rain boots and jacket for school this morning, she said, "I miss Arizona because it's sunny and not raining. Don't you?" Do I miss a place where within an hour my skin becomes as dry as the ground? No. Clover didn't answer my response of "What do you think of 115 degree weather during the summer?" Huh?
The kids' goal for the weekend was to see a cactus or two. These pictures were taken in the yard, allowing us to achieve the kids' goal with minimal energy expended. Rocket's other goal was to see a baby fox - we don't know where he came up with that - but somehow seeing a few pack rat traps and animal holes made up for the lack of infant foxes.
