I wish UPS trucks had GPS trackers available to the public. I am waiting somewhat patiently (which means I am only checking my tracking status every 15 minutes) for my shoes to arrive. I would be screwed without Zappos.com because I only realized Monday night that I do not have the dressy black shoes I need by Thursday. I placed the order and even with free shipping, they...THEY ARE HERE! Live blogging! There is a knock and I don't even care that it was loud enough to wake Rocket from his nap.
A second thanks goes out to Kevin who insisted I buy two pairs of shoes when I told him the comments mentioned that the pair I liked could run narrow. Unfortunately they were out of the larger size, so I bought a completely different pair as the back up. Of course, it is the back up that fits better, but sadly, I love the look of the first pair best. The back up it is, even if they look like granny shoes. Actually they don't just look like granny shoes, they are granny shoes. You know you are old when you begin your shoe search by checking out Naturalizer shoes. These shoes are Softspots, but I keep calling them sunspots, which goes with my old person mentality. Now I need to practice walking in heels. Rocket manages Clover's princess heels better than I can balance in my granny shoes. His trick seems to involve a shuffle walk, but still he manages not to wobble.
As I try to motivate myself to pack for the weekend, I've wondered if there is such a thing as adult onset ADD. I will start something, like the exciting job of folding underwear, and after a minute, I will wonder off to do something else. There is so much I need to do, but I cannot focus on anything long enough to get it done. I've never tried Red Bull, but this would be a good moment to do so, as the Diet Coke I drank with lunch is not doing anything for me. I haven't tried speed either, but I would imagine that could also help.
I took the kids to the pool for two hours following Rocket's swim lesson at another pool, which may be why I feel fuzzy, but for all the effort, Rocket gave me the best reward ever: he fell asleep almost as soon as we got into the car. Bliss.
