When a straggling birthday gift arrived last week, I ripped open the box, not realizing it was going to take two people way too much time to handle the task.
I opened box one and dumped handfuls of packing peanuts into another box. After a few minutes, I was able to shimmy box two out.
I opened box two only to find...box three.
Box three was impossible to pull out. Kevin held one end and I pulled with my hands, while pushing down on box two with my feet. Not pretty and especially annoying when I opened box three to find the styrofoam pieces that were not going to budge at all. I started breaking the styrofoam while Kevin found a box cutter and then he sliced open the box, pulled apart the styrofoam - which included styrofoam bowls in between the ceramic bowls.
Finally, liberation almost 15 minutes after I started.
As a joke, I thought about telling Kevin that I wanted to return them, therefore they needed to be repackaged, but after all of the effort, I couldn't even muster the energy to make a joke.
Really William-Sonoma? I think we could have easily done without one of the boxes.
